Heavy cotton canvas treated with a paraffin wax blend repels splashes of oil and water, so most spills bead up and wipe off. Cross-back leather straps take the weight off your neck during long cooking sessions and adjust to fit a wide range of heights. There is a deep split pocket at the chest for a thermometer and pen, plus two hip pockets for a towel.
The canvas softens and creases with wear, taking on a lived-in look. Do not machine wash; clean it by spot scrubbing with a damp brush and cold water. When it starts to absorb splashes, rewax it with a bar of fabric wax and a hair dryer.
