Spinach and Pineapple Green Smoothie
Frozen pineapple does the heavy lifting here, sweetening a blender full of baby spinach so the drink tastes tropical rather than grassy. A little fresh ginger and lime add zip, and half a frozen banana gives the smoothie a thick, spoonable body without any ice.

Method
-
Pour the almond milk into the blender first, then add the spinach and ginger so the leaves sit closest to the blades.
-
Blend on high for about 30 seconds until the spinach is completely liquefied and the mixture looks bright green with no visible flecks.
-
Add the frozen pineapple, banana, lime juice, and chia seeds, and blend on low, increasing to high, for 45 to 60 seconds until thick and smooth.
-
Taste and add a splash more milk if it is too thick to pour, then serve immediately in chilled glasses.
Zest note from the test kitchen
Blending the greens with the liquid before adding frozen fruit is what gets rid of leafy bits; doing it all at once leaves stringy flecks behind.
